Choosing a Domain

Deciding on whether you register a .com or a .ie in Ireland is something which people often juggle with.  A .ie domain takes a little longer to get as you have to sate your claim to its ownership with the IEDR (Irish Domain Registrar).  If you are an Irish business I recommend that you get both the .ie and the .com especially if you have a well known business that potentially someone else could lay claim to its ownership.

If you plan to be a business in more htan one country then I would register the domain name in all the countries.  It does not mean that you need to have a website for each country as you can redirect the domain name to one central website if you so wish.  It just safeguards a brand name that you might have.
