If at this stage in 2009 you have a business and do not have a business website then you are way behind the pack. Having a website is an essential part of your marketing portfolio these days. People Google businesses now before they check the phone book! If you do not have a business website then you had better get going on getting one organised today as believe me your competitors have one and are getting customers that you should have.
Why do you not have a website? Here are some of the common reasons and my answers to them.
I do not need a website my business is mostly by word of mouth.
So you don’t want to have more customers? This is patently rubbish. The money you put into a website will have a payback. People spend fortunes on leaflets and radio ads. A website lasts forever and if you treat it right and keep it up to date it will generate customer after customer for years to come
Its all very complicated and I just don’t understand it.
You don’t have to understand it. If you want more customers and want to make some money then you should have one.
It costs a lot of money that I do not have at the moment
Understandable money is tight. 800-1000 Euro/dollars for a site may seem like a lot of money to shell out but it will payback. If you don’t have it now why not ask about paying it over a period of time. We all understand times are tough spread the payments.
I don’t believe that a website will help my business.
Patent rubbish. People now search for everything from paper clips to industrial sanders. If you are not there then you they will not call you.
