How to upload a PDF in WordPress
You’ve got a PDF on your computer. You want it on your WordPress site so people can open it or download it. Simple. Do it one of these ways.
Method 1: Upload PDF using Media Library (most common)

Log in to your WordPress dashboard.

Go to Media → Add New.

Click Select Files.

Choose the PDF from your computer.

Wait for the upload to finish.
Your PDF is now inside WordPress.
Method 2: Add PDF link inside a post or page

Open the post or page where you want the PDF link.

Highlight the text (for example: Download PDF).

Click the Link icon in the editor.

Click Media Library.

Select your uploaded PDF.

Click Insert.
-
Update or publish the page.
Visitors can now click and open or download the PDF.
Method 3: Upload PDF directly inside a post

Open your post or page.

Click the + icon to add a block.

Search for File.

Select the File block.

Click Upload and choose your PDF.

WordPress automatically adds a download link.

Publish or update.
Method 4: Show PDF as clickable image or button

Upload the PDF using Media → Add New.

Copy the PDF URL.

Open your post or page.
-
Add a Button block or image.
-
Paste the PDF link as the button or image URL.
-
Publish.
This is useful for brochures or forms.
Method 5: Add PDF to menu or sidebar

Upload the PDF in Media Library.

Copy the PDF URL.

Go to Appearance → Menus or Widgets.

Add a Custom Link.
-
Paste the PDF URL.
-
Save.
